ABOUT ME
I was born in Braintree, Essex and am an English woman through and through. My father served in the armed forces causing me to grew up as a Military Brat. I've lived in range of different places whilst my father was in the forces to include the USA, England, Germany and France. I prefer to be considered a Military Spirit or Military Soul. My love of poetry developed whilst in my 7th grade year whereby my fondness stictly for rhyme and time emerged.
I attended military forces schooling and later, as a mature student, completed a Degree in Computer Science. All of these experiences have provided an impact upon my writing whereby, I am certain, explain the methods of regimentation being applied.
Over the years I've consistently written in rhyme and time with the hope of becoming a lyracist however, it has in lieu resulted in me being a poet. Prior to the publishing of any poetry I made attempts over the years at recording my own songs and fulfilled a life long ambition when I entered one of my songs to the UK Eurovision Song Contest Board as a possibly entry to represent the UK in 1997 entitled "Pure Passion".

I was extremely over joyed when my first ever poetic submission entitled "Time Is Not A Barrier" was accepted and published in 1997 and later, in the same year, ended up being read on several different radio stations as it was found to suit the moment during the week of Princess Diana's mourning. My poem entitled Mr Blair written in 2004 was acknowledged by 10 Downing Street. I have been fortunate enough to have had a wealth of experiences over the years thereby allowing me to be extremely versatile with my poetic creativity. It is very rewarding that my poetry has been demonstrated to be appreciated by so many.
I reside in the Norfolk area of the UK now for many years, since 1996. My grandmother is a London Blitz survivor and we are very close. We have been huge pillars of support for each other since the absence of my mother as a result of mesthelomia (asbestosis). My mother was a huge animal lover causing me to be raised with up to 17 dogs at times. I have inherited this love of animals from her and I looked after several of her dogs for her when she passed away. My mother was very talented and was an artist. I inherited no artisitic talent but I have a passion for music, art, films, pets, photography, poetry, history, the love of architecture and all things ancient. I love trees, blue sky, flowers, wild life, the sea and sand. I love happy faces, love and laughter, positive energy, honesty, devotion, moments to treasure and everything around me.
I am sure you are curious as to the name of Ladee Basset. I am a great animal lover, in particular I love dogs. I own several dogs and love a variety of breeds. My favorite is the Basset Hound. Bassets are extremely comical and I feel they are not given the credit they deserve for the actual intelligence they possess. My Basset Hound, Sherlock, was the most wonderful basset ever, he was cruft qualified and he appeared in magazines and a major motion picture film by Disney. He was such a pride and joy to own therefore, the surname of Basset was chosen. Due to UK residence and wanting to be a Lady which cannot be used formerly as it is a royal title therefore, the derivative of Ladee was chosen. Wallah - Ladee Basset!
It is with great pleasure and pride that I have now been able to compile and produce my very own poetry book and do hope you'll take the opportunity within your life to acquire a copy to read.
